Meghan Markle’s Public Image Could Change as Questions About Father Grow — Expert

Meghan Markle could receive greater public sympathy amid allegations concerning her estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., according to a royal commentator. The Duchess of Sussex has faced renewed scrutiny following reports that Philippine authorities are investigating allegations that her father possessed CSAM. Markle Sr. denies the accusations, and no guilt has been established. The controversy has prompted renewed discussion about Meghan’s decision to keep her father away from her children.

Experts claim Meghan Markle might gain public sympathy after father’s revelations

A royal commentator has suggested that recent allegations involving Thomas Markle Sr. could prompt greater public sympathy for Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Sussex has been estranged from her father for years and has said her decision to prevent him from having contact with her children was made to protect them.

The Sun reported on October 22 that Thomas Markle Jr. had contacted police and the FBI after allegedly discovering child sexual abuse material on his father’s devices in the Philippines. The allegations remain unproven, and Thomas Markle Sr. has denied them. Philippine authorities are investigating the claims.

Royal expert Sean Coughlan wrote for the BBC, stating that this controversy could possibly change the way the general public perceives Markle. According to Coughlan, people have this polished perspective on Markle. He explained that her Instagram is always curated and well put together.

However, the recent controversy with her estranged father can possibly allow people to perceive her in a more real, humane way. The royal expert hopes people realise that Markle’s backstory is as “imperfect and messy” as everyone else’s.

Coughlan warned: “It could still be an uphill struggle to become more popular, beyond her own vocal, core group of supporters.” On October 15, Harry and Meghan travelled to Nottingham to meet fans, locals and volunteers from several charitable organisations. As per The Royal Observer, a sizable crowd gathered to watch and interact with the Sussexes.

Not only that, Markle is remaining focused on her professional endeavours. Besides her lifestyle brand, As Ever, the Duchess will be appearing on Junior MasterChef Australia. As per PEOPLE, Markle has been recruited as a special guest and will be filming in Australia for several weeks next year.
