The Gentlemen Season 2 Rotten Tomatoes score revealed
The Gentlemen Season 2 has received a strong Rotten Tomatoes score. The season currently holds a 79% critics’ score. That puts it above both previous versions. Season 1 currently has a 75% critics’ score and 84% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Interestingly, the original 2019 movie has identical scores.
The Gentlemen movie also sits at 75% with critics, and fans’ score currently stands at 84%. Season 2 has now surpassed both. Several critics have already praised the new season. Aramide Tinubu of Variety wrote, “With a more somber tone and higher stakes, ‘The Gentlemen’ Season 2 is still wildly entertaining.”
Christopher Stevens of The Daily Mail also praised the new season. He wrote, “This collection of disparate rogues is well worth eight hours of anyone’s time. It’s a blast.” Therese Lacson of Collider also shared her thoughts.
She wrote, “As The Gentlemen sheds some of its flash, it’s replaced with a far more thoughtful and philosophical story, one that will carry it through to what is sure to be another outstanding season.” The Gentlemen Season 2 brings back Theo James and Giancarlo Esposito.
James returns as Eddie Horniman, Esposito also returns as Stanley Johnston, and Kaya Scodelario returns as Susie Glass in the crime drama. The new season sees the characters enter a bigger criminal world. They also face much bigger challenges this time around.
The returning cast includes Ray Winstone, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, and Vinnie Jones. Several new stars are joining the cast this season. New additions include Michele Morrone, Hugh Bonneville, Benedetta Porcaroli, Sergio Castellitto, and Maya Jama.
The new season is already generating plenty of buzz. For now, all eight episodes are streaming on Netflix. The series appears to have successfully built on its first season.
