Netflix has released an eerie new trailer for Not a Stranger. The upcoming Turkish TV show’s preview initially shows a seemingly kind nanny before her true sinister intentions are revealed.
The show’s official synopsis reads, “After giving birth, Funda wants to return to painting, the career she had paused, and finally finds the nanny she has been looking for. Nanny Nazlı’s mystery and unsettling nature will change Funda and her husband İlker’s lives forever.”

Netflix’s Not a Stranger brings a chilling nanny mystery to the screen
The trailer opens with Funda, a loving mother who is deeply attached to her newborn daughter. She even struggles to trust anyone to look after her. During a swimming session, Nazlı asks who Funda would trust to watch her “little princess.” This clearly leaves her hesitant.
However, balancing her art career with motherhood leads Funda to hire a nanny to take care of her infant. She eventually welcomes Nanny Nazlı into their home to babysit the kid. Initially, Nazlı becomes comfortable around Funda, her husband İlker, and their baby. The family gradually begins trusting her as her actions make the nanny a part of their daily lives.
Nazlı can’t have children, which eventually unveils her much darker side. The trailer shows her coercing the young child to call her “Mom,” prompting İlker to suspect that something is seriously wrong. That sets the stage for a far more unsettling conflict, as Nazlı appears to want the baby entirely for herself.
Elçin Sangu stars as Funda, while Ozan Dolunay plays İlker. The cast also includes Melis Sezen alongside Cemal Hünal, Efe Taşdelen, Arbil Tabur, Esra Şahin, and Nihan Okutucu. Tuğba Doğan created the Turkish drama, which blends psychological suspense with family drama.
Not A Stranger (original title: Seni Tanıyorum) will premiere on Netflix on September 17.
