A viral claim has reignited speculation that a dead MCU villain could return in Avengers: Doomsday. The rumored reshoots reportedly feature the villain alongside Sue Storm and other characters, potentially giving Marvel fans another major surprise before the multiverse saga reaches its next big chapter.
Elizabeth Olsen rumored to have joined Avengers: Doomsday reshoots
The rumor comes from Marvel scooper Daniel Richtman, better known as DanielRPK, who reportedly claimed that Avengers: Doomsday has completed additional filming. The alleged reshoots supposedly included Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, Sue Storm, and other characters. Marvel has not officially confirmed Olsen’s involvement, so fans remain stuck between excitement and skepticism.
Wanda’s possible return has quickly become the biggest talking point. One fan wrote, “The Scarlet Witch part is what really has my attention.” Another reaction went even further, suggesting Sue’s presence could dramatically alter the balance of power because “Wanda’s return alone was already a wildcard.”
The speculation also opens the door to some wild possibilities for Sue Storm. One theory suggests the Fantastic Four hero could eventually find herself aligned with Doctor Doom, inspired by leaked Secret Wars concept art that allegedly shows Sue beside Doom on his throne. Fans have also floated the idea that some characters could serve Doom unwillingly through manipulation or arrive on Battleworld under mistaken circumstances.
Wanda’s rumored appearance would carry plenty of weight. Olsen last played the character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where Wanda became a mad, murderous villain before apparently sacrificing herself when Mount Wundagore collapsed. That ending left her fate so murky that Marvel fans kept the comeback theories alive.
The larger Doomsday cast already gives Marvel plenty of moving pieces. Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and several other returning stars are confirmed. Kathryn Newton will also return as Cassie Lang.
