Donald Trump’s campaign staff reportedly reacted with disbelief when aide Natalie Harp received a privilege denied to everyone else on the team. Author Michael Wolff described the situation as a defining moment that exposed tensions within Trump’s inner circle regarding Harp’s rapid rise and unusual access to the president.
Biographer talks about Donald Trump’s staff reaction to Natalie Harp getting special privilege
Biographer Michael Wolff revealed that Natalie Harp’s access to an exclusive buffet at Trump’s Palm Beach golf club was a privilege not extended to other campaign staffers. Harp joined Trump’s team in 2022 and has since become one of his closest aides.
The former right-wing news anchor has now been under mounting scrutiny over her proximity to the president. Wolff says Trump’s own staffers raised concerns about Harp long before the public took notice. Speaking on the Inside Trump’s Head podcast, Wolff described Harp’s access to the buffet at Trump’s Florida property. Other staffers were not allowed inside.
“The staffers… like, I mean, they get teary-eyed, their eyes roll back, because they’re actually not allowed to go to the buffet,” Wolff told co-host Joanna Coles. The privilege extended beyond Harp herself. Wolff noted that “not just Natalie, but Natalie with her mother” could enter the buffet area. The author has written four books on Trump and dined with him in Palm Beach. He said Harp visited the buffet every Sunday.
The arrangement confused both campaign staff and club employees. Staffers questioned whether Harp should receive such treatment. Club workers wondered whether they should serve her at all. “She says that the president says she can be here, but can she be here?” Wolff recounted hearing from servers. This routine created what Wolff called “a major moment within the campaign: Natalie at the buffet.”
The buffet controversy has fueled growing concerns about Harp’s role. Recently, two letters reportedly written by Harp to Trump revealed the depth of her devotion to the president. In one, she wrote, “You are all that matters to me.” The Daily Beast reached out to the White House for comment on Wolff’s statements. Spokesperson Davis Ingle dismissed Wolff’s account, calling him “a professional scumbag and serial liar.”
