Donald Trump questions about Melania’s signature at White House event

Donald Trump questioned the significance of Melania Trump’s signature during a White House event on Monday, drawing laughter from some guests. The moment occurred as the president and first lady signed an executive order related to her new women’s health initiative.

After signing the document, Trump handed Melania his Sharpie and asked her to sign it before telling the audience, “I don’t know if her signature means anything.” Some attendees laughed at the comment, while Melania smiled and responded, “Yours is the most important.” Trump then compared their handwriting and exclaimed, “Oh! That looks very similar!” as reported by The Daily Beast.

The event centered on Melania’s plan to address gaps in women’s healthcare and medical research. Her initiative includes a dedicated division at the National Institutes of Health and a White House task force led by Susie Wiles and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The task force is expected to focus on disparities in medical research.

Speaking in the Rose Garden, Melania called for a “new standard for women’s health in America,” emphasizing better medical care, broader research, and faster progress toward treatments and cures. “Our generation will fight to discover the cures that will ensure a woman can live her life in health and to the fullest,” she said.

The women’s health initiative adds to Melania’s policy work during her husband’s second term. Her other projects have included foster care reform and expanding access to artificial intelligence in education.
