Only Murders in the Building Season 6 has finally locked its release date, but with an unexpected twist. The upcoming installment of the mystery comedy-drama series will see the return of Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, among others.
Since its debut in 2021, every season of the Hulu TV show has premiered in late August or early September. However, the sixth season will bring a surprising change. Only Murders in the Building Season 6 will be released on December 8, 2026, reports Vulture.
“There’s a good holiday treat coming your way: a bit of murder in London,” said executive producer and showrunner John Hoffman. It clearly means the series will have a bit of a Christmas vibe.
The delayed launch is due to scheduling constraints involved in shooting the series in London rather than in New York City. In Season 6, the fan-favorite characters will head to London and leave NYC.
Who all are joining Only Murders in the Building Season 6?
Only Murders in the Building Season 6 will feature many new faces alongside the familiar ones. Earlier this month, Olivia Colman (The Roses, Broadchurch, The Crown) joined the cast. The news was shared by the TV show’s official Instagram account.
Gomez hyped Coleman’s arrival, saying, “We have had so many amazing guest stars for Only Murders in the Building.” Another cast member and acclaimed actress Meryl Streep added, “We’re just missing one.”
The TV show also features Peter Capaldi, Jodie Whittaker, David Tennant, and Jim Broadbent. Guest stars for Season 6 include Lesley Nicol, Jamie Demetriou, Jane Horrocks, Matthew Beard, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Martin Freeman, Sharon Horgan, Nicola Coughlan, Anjana Vasan, Derek Jacobi, Richard Ayoade, Adrian Lukis, Kathryn Hunter, Jennifer Saunders, Sean Teale, Simone Ashley, Amar Chadha-Patel, and Rhea Norwood.
The upcoming chapter will follow up on the ending of Season 5, where podcast host Cinda Canning, played by Tina Fey, was found murdered. The trio of Charles, Oliver, and Mabel will be seen trying to solve this case in the UK-set season.
Only Murders in the Building Season 6 comes out on Hulu on December 8, 2026.
