Meghan Markle’s reported plans for a business collaboration with Princess Eugenie could fall through in a fresh news update. According to sources, Eugenie is hesitant to publicly partner with Markle due to the various controversies surrounding the Sussexes. Markle has seemingly considered working with the King’s niece on a European business venture. Meanwhile, multiple outlets have reported that the Sussexes could return to the UK by the end of the month.

Sources told Radar Online that Meghan Markle could face “betrayal” from Princess Eugenie over her planned business venture. Prince Harry has reportedly cherished a good relationship with his cousin and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, who live in Portugal. Notably, the Sussexes also have a property in Portugal.
Markle is keen to capitalize on the wonderful bond between the two families. However, Eugenie is reportedly not keen on mixing business with personal relationships. She believes this could prove detrimental in the long run.
A source attached to the outlet revealed, “Meghan may understandably see Eugenie as somebody with whom she has a genuine personal connection and who also understands the extraordinary pressures surrounding royal life.”
“But friendship is very different from attaching yourself publicly to somebody else’s commercial operation. Eugenie has strong reasons to keep those two worlds separate, and her lack of support when the Sussexes come back to Britain is likely to be seen as a complete betrayal from Meghan’s point of view,” they added.
Moreover, Eugenie has dealt with her share of controversies, too, mainly due to her father, ex-Prince Andrew. He has been in the news for his controversial ties to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. According to the outlet, Eugenie is not interested in courting another controversy by associating herself with Markle.
The insider dished, “Eugenie has worked hard to maintain her own life while dealing with circumstances surrounding her father that she did not create. The last thing she needs is another wave of headlines suggesting she has chosen a side in the Sussex dispute or is using her royal connections commercially. A private friendship with Meghan can continue perfectly well without becoming a business partnership.”
