Avengers: Secret Wars Will Finally Reunite 2 MCU Fan-Favorites After 6 Years — Rumor

A new Avengers: Secret Wars rumor suggests that two of the beloved MCU characters will reunite after six years. The two characters last shared a screen in 2021 in a Disney+ MCU show. Their reunion would mark the first time they shared the big screen.

According to Marvel Insider James Mack, Florence Pugh’s Yelena and Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop will reunite in Avengers: Secret Wars with major roles. The duo last shared a screen in 2021 when they appeared in the MCU show Hawkeye.

Although Yelena and Bishop exchanged blows in the series, their light-hearted banter and witty comments made them one of the fan-favorite duos in the MCU. Since Bishop was not part of the Thunderbolts*, their comeback in Avengers: Secret Wars marks the second time the two would share the screen.

However, this is only a rumor provided by the scoop report. Marvel or Disney has not confirmed whether Pugh or Steinfeld would be part of Secret Wars. Moreover, the extent of how important their role is in the upcoming movie after Doomsday is not confirmed as well.

Hailee Steinfeld and Florence Pugh brought Kate Bishop and Yelena Belova to life in the MCU

Florence Pugh‘s Yelena was first introduced in the Black Widow feature film in July, 2021, alongside Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. In the post-credits scene of this movie, Yelena was told that Barton was responsible for the death of her sister.

This made her one of the adversaries that Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop had to face in Hawkeye, which premiered in November of the same year. What made these characters stand out was their unlikely introduction to each other in the MCU. Bishop walks in on Yelena cooking a pot of mac-and-cheese, who offers her some.

Many fans speculated that the two would share the screen soon after their quirky interactions in Hawkeye, but this did not happen. If the aforementioned rumor turns out to be true, then the duo would bring back the Natasha Romanoff-Clint Barton dynamic in a chaotic way, carrying on the former Avengers’ legacy in the MCU.
