Jennifer’s Body to leave Netflix next month
Jennifer’s Body, starring Megan Fox and Chris Pratt, will soon be leaving Netflix. According to What’s on Netflix, the 2009 horror film is scheduled to leave the streaming platform on September 1, 2026, leaving subscribers with limited time to watch it.
Jennifer’s Body arrived in theaters on September 18, 2009, with Karyn Kusama directing from a screenplay by Diablo Cody. The horror-comedy follows high school best friends Jennifer Check and Needy Lesnicki, whose lives are forever altered by a fire at a local bar. After the tragic night, Jennifer returns with disturbing changes in her behavior.
As male students at their high school begin turning up dead, Needy uncovers the truth behind Jennifer’s transformation and learns that a black magic ritual carried out by members of the band turned her into a flesh-eating succubus. Determined to prevent more deaths, Needy races to stop her friend before the violence continues.
Fox leads the cast as Jennifer Check alongside Amanda Seyfried as Anita “Needy” Lesnicki. The film also stars Chris Pratt as Officer Roman Duda, Adam Brody as Nikolai Wolf, Johnny Simmons as Chip Dove, J.K. Simmons as Mr. Wroblewski, Amy Sedaris as Toni Lesnicki, and others.
Although the film received poor ratings following its release, it has since developed a cult following. On Rotten Tomatoes, Jennifer’s Body holds a 47 percent critics’ score based on 214 reviews. Meanwhile, its audience score stands at 36 percent.
The film has recently returned to the spotlight following an update on the long-rumored sequel. Reports indicate that Jennifer’s Body 2 is moving closer to production, with principal photography currently scheduled to begin in October in Vancouver. Fox is also expected to reprise her role. However, the studio has yet to officially confirm the project or announce the cast.
