Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle may be making her way back to the UK, but the former “Suits” star doesn’t seem too thrilled about her visit, according to an insider. A recent report has claimed that Markle is very cautious about visiting the British Royal family, going as far as to describe her state as “terrified.”
Meghan Markle is feeling ‘terrified’ about UK return, insider suggests
According to the account shared by an insider to The National Examiner, the 44-year-old media personality isn’t enthusiastic about her visit to the UK.
“[Meghan] doesn’t trust the palace one bit. In her mind, they’ve spent years spreading poisonous rumors about her, so she’s finding it very hard to believe anyone’s suddenly had a change of heart,” the source noted (via The Daily Express).
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly visiting the UK ahead of the former’s proposed attendance at the one-year countdown event for the 2027 Invictus Games. However, the couple’s standing with the British Royal family following their wedding in 2018 still seems to be a point of concern for Markle.
“Meghan’s trying to be strong because she knows how much this trip means to Harry. But she’s admitted that she’s terrified they’re walking into a trap,” the insider added.
They continued, “She’s just as suspicious of the courtiers. She says she knows plenty of them are on the warpath against her and Harry, just waiting for William to become king, so they’ll finally lose their status.”
King Charles III has reportedly extended an invitation to his youngest son Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to stay at the royal residence during their UK visit. However, Markle seemingly isn’t too keen on spending her days at the palace. “[Harry] keeps telling her she’s expecting the worst and insists his father genuinely wants to see them, but that’s not doing a whole lot to ease her fears,” the source remarked.
Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly planned to arrive in the UK sometime next week, along with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
