Hannah Waddingham calls ‘rift’ with Jason Sudeikis rumors ‘ridiculous clickbait’
Waddingham took to Instagram to set the record straight on the ongoing rumors about a potential crack in her and Sudeikis’ bond. She addressed, “For the first time ever I am finding it necessary to silence the utter bollocks being written about a ‘rift’ between me and my beloved, long-standing friend and acting partner Jason Sudeikis.” She further described the rumors as “Ridiculous, clickbait buuuuuulllls—!” She questioned the news coverage before asking those spreading rumors to get a life.
Following the rumors address, she also ensured to plug the promotion for the next outing of Ted Lasso, set to premiere in August 2026. She wrote, “Ps. Season 4 Ted Lasso on @appleTV is gonna be a dooooozyyyy, as our mustachioed companion would say. See you all up Nelson Road! Long live AFC Richmond!” (via Entertainment Tonight).
The rumors commenced when the “Sex Education” actress shared with Variety about the challenge of working with Sudeikis. “There’s always going to be a bit of give-and-take within a scene, because of the nature of how Sudeikis works. He hears it in the room, and then we tweak. With that boy, you’ve got to roll with the punches. He and I have an ongoing love-hate relationship that he changes it last minute,” she explained, referring to their bond.
The upcoming Ted Lasso season centers on Ted, who is back in Richmond to coach a second-division women’s football team. Across the season, he and the team take risky chances and try things that they never thought they could do.
