Chelsea Handler compares Spencer Pratt to Donald Trump
Chelsea Handler expressed her concern about Spencer Pratt running for the mayor of Los Angeles in a new Instagram video. The veteran comedian compared Pratt to current President Donald Trump, who remains one of the most controversial figures in world politics.
The 51-year-old took to Instagram on Friday, May 15, 2026, to speak about the reality television series star’s political ambitions.
“If you’re seeing this video, this is a reminder that a straight, white male, former reality star that has no previous experience in government should not be a legitimate political candidate,” Handler said in an Instagram video, “Have we learned anything yet?”
The video then displayed a goofy photo of President Donald Trump.
“The bar is on the f****ing floor, people,” she said, “And I need you to jump over it. Okay, thank you. Have a nice day.”
Handler’s post received mixed reactions from users, with many claiming that she was right about her concerns, while others were disgruntled with her stance and claimed instead that Spencer Pratt should win.
Pratt is a registered Republican in the non-partisan race. So far, his positions include increased funding for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), decreasing homelessness funding, and cracking down on street takeovers.
Spencer Pratt broke into the mainstream when he started dating Heidi Montag, a primary cast member of the reality television series The Hills. He was later cast in the series.
