X-Men Report: GOT Spin-off Lead Eyed To Play Beast in Marvel Reboot

Casting chatter around Marvel’s mutant reboot is picking up pace, and a new name has entered the conversation. A recent industry report suggests a rising actor from a major fantasy series could be in line for a key role.

Peter Claffey possibly eyed to play Beast in Marvel’s X-Men reboot

According to insider Jeff Sneider, one of the actors being considered for Beast in Marvel’s upcoming X-Men reboot is Peter Claffey. Sneider shared this during a conversation with John Rocha, noting that the choice “makes sense” based on the actor’s profile.

Claffey is currently gaining attention for playing Dunk in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, a prequel set in the world of Game of Thrones. While Sneider admitted he hasn’t followed the show closely, he pointed out that Claffey’s casting buzz is growing, especially with Marvel reportedly exploring fresh faces for its mutant lineup.

” I dont watch the show, but he plays Dunk, his name is Peter Claffey, and I heard that they’re looking at him for Beast,” Sneider said. Rocha even suggested the actor might fit another X-Men character like Banshee, though Beast appears to be the stronger possibility right now.

The casting is yet to be confirmed, and the rumor should be taken with a grain of salt. For those not in the know, Sneider also previously said Sadie Sink is being lined up to play Jean Grey, hinting that Marvel could introduce key mutants sooner than expected, possibly through upcoming crossover films. According to the rumors, she might appear in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Claffey’s rise has been steady. His portrayal of Dunk has already drawn interest from fans of George R.R. Martin’s world, with early reactions praising the grounded and physical presence he brings to the role. Claffey’s Dunk is famous for his strength and heart, qualities that could translate well to Beast, a hero who is both an intellectual and a brute when needed.

Looking ahead, Claffey is expected to return for Season 2 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which, per Sneider, is targeting a 2027 release. That gives him time to further build momentum before any official Marvel casting decisions are announced.
