Spider-Man 4 Rumor May Have Revealed Jean Grey’s Big Role in Sequel

A new rumor has emerged, revealing why Jean Grey, who, according to unverified rumors will be played by Sadie Sink, possibly shows up in Spider-Man 4. It suggests that she could be instrumental in sorting out the titular hero’s personal life after Spider-Man: No Way Home left it in a dark place. Although rumors point to her playing the X-Men member, Sink’s role in Brand New Day hasn’t been officially confirmed.

How Sadie Sink’s Jean Grey could help Spider-Man in Brand New Day

Content creator Matt Ramos (Supes) recently posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Marvel was “perfectly” introducing Jean Grey in the MCU by putting her in Spider-Man 4. He compared this to Marvel’s previous attempts to introduce heroes in another superhero’s movie before following up with them in another film, noting this was how it was for characters like Hawkeye, Black Widow, Black Panther, and Spider-Man himself.

Responding to this post, industry scooper Daniel Richtman speculated on why Jean Grey was in the film. He suggested that she was key to bringing back Peter Parker’s loved ones, MJ, Happy, and Ned’s memories of him.

While Richtman’s comment is nothing more than an unconfirmed rumor, it does seem to make perfect sense. The redheaded mutant is a telepath, aside from being a telekinetic, due to which she would have experience in how minds and memories work. Accordingly, she could use this experience and her abilities to help Peter’s friends remember their connection to him.

Moreover, she could factor into the film in another way. Rumors suggest that Bruce Banner will turn into the Savage Hulk in the film. If this is true, then she could likely help calm Banner down by the end of the film.

Ultimately, whether or not Jean Grey will appear in the film and whether Sink will be playing her remains to be seen. Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31, 2026. Destin Daniel Cretton directed the film from Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers’ script.

Tom Holland stars as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Supporting cast members include Sink, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, and Marvin Jones III.
