Sydney’s Favourite Rock N’ Roll Pizza Bar Is Hosting A Horror Movie Screening & Star Q&A

Horror and heavy music go together like Mick Taylor and backpacker bodies.

(Obviously talking about the dude from Wolf Creek and not the former Rolling Stone).

Which is why it brings us great pleasure to inform you that Sydney’s beloved rock hole Frankie’s Pizza By The Slice will be serving up some of its trademark pie with a side of gore this July, as it makes an exciting and logical foray into the world of horror.

The proud live music venue will be stuffing its regularly scheduled program of top-notch local riffage with a 2pm screening of the gore-tastic 2014 New Zealand horror-comedy Blood Punch on Sunday, 2nd July.

And not only can punters expect to shit their pants (from both fear and laughter) during the sesh, the film’s star Milo Cawthorne (also of Deathgasm & Ash vs. Evil Dead) will be in the house to chat to fans in an exclusive post-show Q&A, before doors open at 4.30 kicking off a lineup of nine bands cranking live original tunes into the wee hours.

The stacked local lineup includes cameos by The Shadez, Love Drunk Hearts, Chico Seeds, The Desert Sea, The Iron Horses, Aureus, The Hollering’ Sluggers, Zach Odgers & The East Coast Low and Avelna.

Tickets to the film screening are limited but the live music is – as always – free.

And most exciting of all, Frankies very own Fright Night could be becoming a regular thang (we’ve heard whispers that future installments will include guest appearances by one of the biggest characters in horror as well as a prominent rocker who’s dabbled in the genre).

Bloody pumped!

Sunday, 2nd July (2pm)
