Harry Shearer Is Back On Diddly-Deck With The Simpsons

Order has once again been restored to the town of Springfield, following news that Harry Shearer, who voices around half of the town’s population, has re-signed with The Simpsons for its 27th season.

Shearer originally announced his departure from the show in May, effectively placing the future of iconic characters such as Mr. Burns, Principal Skinner, Kent Brockman and that jerk Flanders in jeopardy.

But now that an exclusivity bug in his contract has been ironed out, Shearer has said okaley dokely to Season 27.

“FOX is proud to confirm that each and every member of the iconic series’ voice cast will be returning in the roles they’ve brought to life since the show’s beginnings as a series of animated shorts nearly 30 years ago,” the network said.

According to NME, Shearer’s contract will reportedly see him return for another four seasons, and earn an estimated US$300,000 per episode.

Season 27 of The Simpsons is due to premiere this Aussie spring.
