Miley Cyrus Being Sued by Sinead O’Connor Over Amanda Bynes Joke?

Miley Cyrus is allegedly being sued by Sinead O’Connor, following a tweet Miley sent out yesterday comparing the ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ singer’s mental health problems with that of the troubled Amanda Bynes.

O’Connor penned an open letter to the former Disney star, which you can read here, telling Miley that she “has enough talent” that she needn’t let the music business “make a prostitute” out of her. Miley responded by posting a screengrab of tweets posted by O’Connor, who has bi-polar disorder, in 2012, in which the singer was pleading with her followers for psychiatric help after having a breakdown.

In a third open letter in response to Miley’s tweet, O’Connor said: “You have posted today tweets of mine which are two years old, which were posted by me when I was unwell and seeking help so as to make them look like they are recent.

“In doing so you mock myself and Amanda Bynes for having suffered with mental health issues and for having sought help.

“Remove your tweets immediately or you will hear from my lawyers. I am certain you will be hearing from all manner of mental health advocacy groups also. It is not acceptable to mock any person for having suffered.”

She added: “It is most unbecoming of you to respond in such a fashion to someone who expressed care for you.”

Last we heard, it’s not exactly a slam-dunk in the eyes of the law for a person to sue someone for retweeting another person’s public posting.
