E3 2014: From Software’s Bloodborne Gameplay Footage Surfaces

Sony revealed Bloodborne during its E3 Press Conference, instantly capturing the attention of the audience. From Software has propelled itself into the elite club with the Souls series, and now it’s looking to try something a little different.

As shown in the off-screen gameplay video above, Bloodborne plays a lot like the Souls games. It’s a third-person action RPG with a dark atmosphere, and presumably a brutal difficulty. However, this game is darker than its kindred.

Bloodborne‘s 19th century setting is somewhat similar to The Order: 1886, although with much darker tones. As a matter of fact, Bloodborne is a… bloody and very mature game. Vile enemies spew out blood, and enemies appear sick and distressed. The cursed alleys and streets of what looks like an aged London are cursed and uninviting. It’s the perfect habitat for a dual-wielding protagonist with nothing better to do. Oh, and that whole collecting souls thing? It’s gone in the case of Bloodborne.

This is easily one of the more interesting games at E3 2014, and we can’t wait to see more. For now, check out the video above.
