‘Nightmare House’ Warns Buyer About Mysterious Upstairs ‘Occupant’

Drive to 709 Michaelmas Avenue in Cayce, SC and you’ll find a lovely four-bedroom, three-bath home for sale. It needs some handy work. But it’s a real diamond in the rough. Of course theres a ghost living upstairs. And the mortgage is only $504 a month!

That’s seemingly the message this seller has posted on Zillow.

The post is trending because of its supposed candor regarding the unknown ‘upstairs tenant.’

The listing says

“Upstairs apartment cannot be shown under any circumstances. Buyer assumes responsibility for the month-to-month tenancy in the upstairs apartment. Occupant has never paid, and no security deposit is being held, but there is a lease in place. (Yes, it does not make sense, please don’t bother asking.)”

This woman below appears to be the one who spotted the listing and posted it on Twitter first, calling it a “nightmare house.”

Here are just a few pics from the listing.

This must be why they have the leaky roof.

What. Is. That?

The price has dropped 7 percent in the last month. And they only want cash.

This is all tempting, but if I’m going to buy a house I think I want mine blood and trash-free and with a ghost who’s at least willing to come downstairs and introduce themselves.
