DC Unveils Another New Costume For Superman

Earlier today, DC Comics debuted the new costume for Wonder Woman. And apparently the Man of Steel will be getting a new costume as well.

Via Nerdist, DC Comics has released the cover of Action Comics # 41, which features Superman in a more street level costume that resembles the outfit he wore at the beginning of Grant Morrison’s Action Comics run in The New 52.

Note that Superman’s hands are bleeding in the image, which suggests that Clark Kent’s time without powers (thanks to the development of his Super Flare ability) may play a larger role in this new era of Superman stories.

The solicitation text for Action Comics # 41 says only that “The epic new storyline “TRUTH” begins! For Superman, there’s no more holding back!” Greg Pak and Aaron Kuder will remain the creative team on Action Comics, and the cover image for issue 41 was drawn by Kuder.

It’s not clear if DC is abandoning the John Romita Jr. redesigned Superman costume that debuted earlier this year or if the Man of Steel will be alternating his outfits. But the new look Superman has appeared in two other covers that were shown on Hitfix.

In case you were wondering, the image above also features the “New Batman,” who apparently wears armor of some kind.

Action Comics # 41 will be released on June 3.
