Marvel’s Jessica Jones Hates Mornings In New Teaser

Who is Jessica Jones? That has to the question on the minds of casual Marvel fans who caught Daredevil on Netflix last spring. The Jessica Jones series is the second of four original shows that will culminate in a team up miniseries called The Defenders.

But getting back to the question at hand, Jessica Jones is a private investigator who has only been around in the Marvel Universe for the last 14 years. That’s pretty recent in comic book terms. She’s also an alcoholic and she has a lot of self-destructive tendencies. She may even have PTSD, but she generally tries to do the right thing while rebuilding her life.

While Marvel and Netflix have yet to release real trailer for the Jessica Jones series, one of Netflix’s Latin America accounts has posted a video with the first footage of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones as she gets a very rude awakening.

Did I mention that Jessica Jones has super strength? She may not look like it now, but Jessica Jones used to be a superheroine. However, her career flamed out and she suffered a traumatic incident that is going to come back and haunt her during the Jessica Jones series.

Former Doctor Who star David Tennant is playing Kilgrave, the man behind many of Jessica’s darkest moments. Mike Colter (The Following) is also making his MCU in the series as Luke Cage, one of Jessica’s closest friends and a potential lover. Jessica’s best friend is Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor), a woman that Marvel Comic fans may remember as Hellcat. Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty, and Wil Traval round out the cast.

All 13 episodes of Jessica Jones Season 1 will simultaneously premiere on Netflix beginning on November 20, 2015.
