WWE 2K22 Developer Comments On The Status Of The Game, Concern Over Lack Of Updates

The WWE Universe got a shocking announcement at SummerSlam when it was revealed that WWE 2K22 wouldn’t be coming out until March of 2022. Furthermore, 2K revealed following SummerSlam that no further information on the game would be released until January.

These tidbits of information have caused great concern in the WWE Games community, and fans have been voicing their displeasure for these announcements ever since.

This morning, WWE 2K developer / Visual Concepts’ Patrick Gilmore took to social media to address the concerns of the franchise and the efforts that will be made to try and keep fans in the loop between now and January:

“I’ve heard some concerns about WWE2K22 going quiet until January. The challenge is that creating updates like the #SummerSlam trailer requires support from development, and we’re trying to stay completely focused on making you the best game possible. Our marketing and community teams are 1000% supportive of our development focus. No promises, but we’re talking about ways to share more about our progress to keep you all in the loop, so you won’t have to wait until next year to learn more,” Patrick Gilmore said in a series of tweets.

WWE 2K22 is currently scheduled to be released in March of 2022, right in the middle of WrestleMania season.
