Is Fox Trying To Stage a Crossover Between Bones & Sleepy Hollow?!

The crossover is a long-standing television tradition that usually takes place between two compatible TV series. For example, take the crossover between CSI and Without a Trace, or the crossover with Law & Order: SVU, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Fire.

Next season, Fox is rumored to be considering a crossover between two shows that have almost nothing in common except for sharing Thursday nights on Fox. TVLine is reporting that Bones and Sleepy Hollow are being eyed for a crossover event in 2016.

The inherent problem is that Sleepy Hollow takes place in a world where demons and dark magic are real, while Bones does not. The two shows quite literally come from two different worlds that are not easily compatible with each other. And after 11 seasons, it seems kind of late in the game to be adding the supernatural to Bones’ ongoing narrative.

That said, it’s not necessarily impossible to crossover Bones and Sleepy Hollow. Bones pulled off a crossover with Family Guy years ago by using Stewie Griffin (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) as an animated hallucination suffered by Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz). The X-Files also featured Richard Belzer as Detective John Munch, a character he originated on the very non-supernaturally themed Homicide: Life on the Street.

So, this could really happen. But should it? Do either Bones or Sleepy Hollow really gain anything from crossing over with each other? Is this something that fans really want to see?
