Hillary Clinton Delivers a Donald Trump Warning on The View Ahead of Midterm Elections

Hillary Clinton appeared on The View on Monday, November 2, to discuss the political climate ahead of the midterm elections. The former secretary of state sent a clear warning regarding Donald Trump on the show.

Clinton joined co-host Kara Swisher to share her thoughts on the campaign season and what could follow once Americans cast their ballots. She was optimistic about the election but remained concerned until every vote was counted.

Clinton also pointed to signs of Democratic movement in places where it had not been expected months earlier. Still, she urged voters to participate and said the results would depend on turnout. Her appearance also brought back memories of the 2016 presidential race, when Trump defeated her after a campaign marked by personal attacks and allegations against her.

Clinton reflects on 2016 election smears & growing political hostility

During the conversation, Hillary Clinton addressed the increasingly aggressive tone of political campaigns. Responding to a question from Ana Navarro about the hostility surrounding several races, she said she hoped the situation would not deteriorate further. “I hope it doesn’t get worse, because we are truly at the bottom.”

The 79-year-old argued that recent campaign tactics had moved beyond what should be considered normal political discourse. According to Clinton, repeated exposure to cruel and personal attacks can make people less sensitive to that kind of behavior.

“It worked with me because it was kind of unprecedented,” she said, referring to the claims circulated during that campaign. Clinton later described the broader problem as not only financial corruption but also “moral corruption.”

Hillary Clinton then delivered her warning, predicting that Donald Trump could become more confrontational if Democrats win control of both chambers of Congress.

She said, “If we are successful in winning both the House and the Senate, which I hope we will be, then I think he’s going to get even more out of control because I think he’s going to feel cornered.” Clinton added that she expected him to become angry and lash out.

However, she said a Democratic-controlled Congress would have more leverage to hold the president accountable.
