Marvel Studios is set to commence production on its latest MCU show, Zodiac. However, with many questions about the show, an insider has shared interesting updates on Zodiac’s connection to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
In a recent Q&A session with insider Alex Perez, a fan asked how closely the show will connect to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In response, the insider said Zodiac will be partially related to the 2013 series.
Another fan asked whether the show will be set in the modern-day Marvel Cinematic Universe or in an earlier timeline. Perez didn’t reveal much, but claimed fans will see both the older and newer MCU eras in Zodiac.
However, despite the reveal, fans must take the update with a pinch of salt. As of now, Marvel has not confirmed the show’s plot, so the Zodiac insider information is only rumor.
How Marvel’s Zodiac could balance grounded spy stories with the MCU’s stranger comic book elements
With Zodiac, Marvel can bridge its street-level spy thrillers and its superhero stories. By presenting Zodiac as either an espionage team or a crime syndicate, Marvel could position them as an organization that uses cosmic powers as weapons. Previously, Marvel has achieved that balance through Steve Rogers’ Captain America and Shang-Chi.
Adding to this, Alex Perez has shed light on how the show might be more grounded. When asked whether the upcoming project would tap into the cosmic run’s wider elements or aim to be more grounded, Perez said it would be more grounded, but fans can also expect a “bit of camp.”
Marvel announced at the 2026 New York Comic Con that Zodiac is scheduled for a 2028 Disney+ release.
