DCU fans might get a surprise reveal as She-Hulk and Jurassic World stars could soon join the DC Studios for an upcoming project. An unverified casting report has linked two familiar franchise actors to the upcoming animated Mister Miracle series.
According to a rumor shared by scooper account @MyTimeToShineH, Jameela Jamil and Justice Smith have reportedly been eyed or approached to voice Big Barda and Mister Miracle, respectively.
“Some random person sent me this. I don’t know if it’s true, probably isn’t, but just in case, I’m putting it out there to see if it gets confirmed or denied: Jameela Jamil and Justice Smith have reportedly been cast in the Mister Miracle series,” the tweet read.
The report remains unconfirmed, and neither DC Studios nor Warner Bros. Animation has announced the casting. The rumor originated from an unspecified third-party source, so Jamil and Smith’s involvement should be treated as speculation for now.
The animated project is based on Tom King and Mitch Gerads’ acclaimed 12-issue Mister Miracle comic series, which won an Eisner Award. King, who also worked on HBO’s Lanterns, is developing the project as its creator and primary showrunner.
Why does the speculation center on Mister Miracle’s leading duo?
The speculation has drawn attention because of the contrast between Big Barda and Scott Free. The characters are married and have been central figures in DC’s Fourth World mythology since Jack Kirby introduced them.
Barda once served as a member of Darkseid’s Female Furies on Apokolips before leaving the planet with Scott. She is a powerful warrior who often serves as the more physically imposing member of the relationship. Meanwhile, Scott is a master escape artist whose abilities were shaped by his traumatic upbringing under Granny Goodness.
King and Gerads’ comic series placed their marriage and personal struggles at the center of the story. Scott deals with depression, guilt, and trauma while trying to maintain an ordinary life with Barda despite their extraordinary circumstances.
That makes the rumored casting particularly notable. Jamil has already played a physically imposing superhero character as Titania, while Smith has built his screen career around more vulnerable and emotionally restrained performances.
If the report is accurate, that contrast could fit the dynamic between Barda and Scott in King’s version of the story.
