Lucy Davis, who is known for her appearance in The Office, has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. The star took to her Instagram account to post this heartbreaking news.
According to her update, the actor has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. Following her revelation, The Office star also pointed out that the cancer was incurable, as it has already metastasized into her bones. Furthermore, such a situation also leaves her in a helpless state, as chemotherapy will probably not help her situation.
Elaborating on her illness, Davis pointed out how she had a small lump on her breast. However, since the lump was small, the 53-year-old ignored it, which led to the cancer spreading further. Advising her followers, Davis asked them not to disregard any symptoms and get checked immediately.
What did Lucy Davis say in her statement about her cancer diagnosis?
Davis wrote on her Instagram, “As of now, I’m trying to live out whatever might be left of my life in as fun a way as I possibly can. I always like to find the teachable moments in anything negative that happens. And cancer has not disappointed in that regard; there’s a lot I have learned from it, and I’m grateful for that. As some of you will know, the pain can really be something else. Standing and walking for too long a time can be hard, and I need to use a wheelchair sometimes (so if you see me toddling around in one, feel free to give me a push!)”
Continuing with her long message, The Office actor also made an important request to all her friends and family. She stated that everybody must continue making fun of her and teasing her like before. The 53-year-old further reflected that there was no worse feeling for a sick person than when their family treats them as if they were unwell.
Davis became popular for her role as Dawn Tinsley in The Office (UK).
