Michael Jackson: The Verdict Begins Streaming Today, How to Watch

A new Michael Jackson documentary is now available for streaming. Titled Michael Jackson: The Verdict, it is a three-part docuseries tackling the controversial 2005 criminal trial of the legendary singer. This comes over a month after the theatrical debut of the Michael biopic starring Jaafar Jackson, which grossed around $850 million.

Where to watch the Michael Jackson: The Verdict documentary?

Starting today, Netflix subscribers can now watch all three episodes of its newest original documentary, Michael Jackson: The Verdict. The docuseries is created and executive-produced by showrunner David Herman, with Nick Green directing the episodes. It hails from Candle True Stories, with Fiona Stourton and James Goldston also serving as executive producers.

Jackson’s 2005 criminal trial happened after he was charged with multiple counts of child molestation. Despite being found not guilty of all charges, the controversy has remained a recurring topic among the public even after the pop icon’s death. The documentary will feature interviews with key individuals who were present inside the courtroom, including jurors and eyewitnesses. It is expected to show both sides of the case, the prosecution and the defense.

“It has been 20 years since the trial of Michael Jackson, in which he was found not guilty. Yet, to this day, controversy still rages,” the filmmakers said in a statement to Tudum. “No cameras were allowed in court, and so the public’s view of the facts at the time were filtered by commentators and presented piecemeal. It was time to take a forensic look at the trial as a whole. Anyone interested in the Michael Jackson story should feel this documentary gives them a window into what was largely a closed event and a chance to feel closer to what happened.”
