Christian Bale is proud of his daughter, who is making a name for herself in modeling and photography. The former Batman star recently discussed her career at the premiere of his upcoming film.
Speaking with E! News, Bale admitted he does not consider himself an expert in the fashion industry. He believes his 21-year-old daughter, Luka, understands the fashion industry better than he does.
“I’ve got no idea about it,” Bale quipped. The Oscar winner added that he frequently makes mistakes in his own professional life, so he prefers to stay out of her way. “She’s got a great head on her shoulders.”
His daughter has walked runways for high-profile fashion events, including Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda. Luka made background appearances in her father’s films Ford v Ferrari and Thor: Love and Thunder. Bale and his wife, Sibi Blažić, also have a 12-year-old son.
What else did Christian Bale say about his daughter?
Bale also praised Luka’s creative talent. “She’s incredibly talented as a photographer and as a model herself, and I do see her directing me one day,” the Welsh-born English actor said. He described her as having an “amazing” mind and an “incredible” creative vision. “I’m so bloody proud of her,” the 52-year-old added.
Bale also expressed his confidence in his daughter’s potential as a director and said he is “absolutely” sure that she will direct him one day. The American Hustle star joked that she might run a stricter set than Christopher Nolan. “I’d probably behave better for her than everybody else ever,” he joked. “I’m terrified.”
As for his upcoming appearances, Madden is a biographical sports film. It tells the story of American football coach and commentator John Madden, played by Nicolas Cage. David O. Russell directs the film and co-wrote the screenplay, which is based on an earlier draft by Cameron Clark.
Distributed by Amazon MGM Studios, Madden arrives in theaters and on Prime Video simultaneously on November 18.
