Erin Moriarty is excited as C.L.A.Y. films in London
Moriarty confirmed the news through an Instagram story, where she wrote, “so truly excited for this one.” She joins C.L.A.Y., a cyber-thriller led by Cage, with Brenton Thwaites also signing on.
Moriarty is recognized for bringing Starlight to life in Prime Video’s The Boys, while Thwaites made his mark as Nightwing in DC’s Titans. The duo joins a stacked lineup featuring Cage, Michael Sheen, Jordi Mollà, Emilio Sakraya, Adrian Topol, and Indonesian singer-actor Agnez Mo (via Deadline).
At the heart of the thriller is a brilliant young computer whiz who has a tough time fitting in and making sense of the world around him. Things take a turn when he crosses paths with C.L.A.Y., an underground hacking crew whose name stands for Clowns Laughing At You.
Led by Afram, who also wrote, directed, and produced the film, the story follows the group as the consequences of their actions catch up to them. Their stunts soon attract heat from intelligence agencies, criminal networks, and competing hackers.
Beyond the hacking setup, the film digs into questions of identity and finding a place to belong. The movie also aims to show how a few clicks online can unleash a heap of trouble in the real world. As C.L.A.Y. attracts more attention, the crew finds itself caught in the crosshairs of increasingly powerful enemies.
Behind the camera, Afram is stepping into feature filmmaking for the first time as the project’s director. He is also producing alongside Georgette Turner, Edward Kahl, Reza Roohi and Adrian Topol. Bianca Goodloe, David Scaramanga, Cüneyt Kaya and Daniel Haido round out the team as executive producers.
