Melissa Rycroft is facing another legal issue after Texas police arrested the television personality on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The former DWTS winner now faces multiple charges, months after resolving a previous DWI case through a guilty plea.
Melissa Rycroft arrested on suspicion of DWI
Rycroft is facing three charges following her latest arrest in Southlake. Court-related jail records obtained by Entertainment Weekly identify Sunday as the date she was taken into custody by local police, the same agency involved in her September 2025 arrest. The allegations include a second-degree DWI offense, operating a vehicle with an invalid license after a previous conviction or suspension without financial responsibility, and a collision that caused at least $200 in damage.
Rycroft’s latest arrest has left her at the Tarrant County Corrections Center in Fort Worth, according to jail records. Her bail stands at $9,000, which remained unpaid at the time of the report. The outcome of Rycroft’s previous DWI case dates back to August, when she pleaded guilty to the offense linked to her September 2025 arrest.
Under the agreement, she received 20 months of probation, and a judge ordered her to pay $2,000 in fines, plus court fees. Her total bill came to $2,087, including a charge earmarked for trauma-related expenses. In exchange for the plea deal, she avoided a potential 280-day jail sentence.
Following Rycroft’s September 2025 arrest, her attorney, Bret Martin, pushed back against assumptions about the case. In comments to Entertainment Weekly, Martin stressed that an arrest does not establish guilt and that Rycroft, like any defendant, should be presumed innocent unless proven otherwise. “My client was arrested on the allegation of driving while intoxicated. An arrest is no indication of guilt,” he said during that time.
Rycroft later addressed her emotional state in a reply on social media. She admitted that she was going through a rough patch but said she was doing her best to move forward after the incident. “Life really sucks right now, and I’m struggling, but I’m trying to march forward,” Rycroft posted.
