Jordan Klepper used a recent Daily Show segment to joke about Donald Trump‘s habit of commenting on a Republican senator’s body. The show played several clips of Trump’s comments at a recent rally to jokingly make the case that the president has an “obsession.” Klepper also highlighted Trump’s claims about the upcoming election in Alaska involving Republican candidate Dan Sullivan and Democratic candidate Mary Peltola.
The Daily Show’s Jordan Klepper jokes about Donald Trump’s ‘obsession’
Klepper opened by noting that Donald Trump has spent recent weeks making repeated remarks about Ohio Senator Jon Husted’s physique. Trump then used a Lubbock, Texas, rally to sarcastically mock the media for dwelling on those comments. The host flipped the complaint back at the president and added that Trump has “literally spent more time talking about a** than Juvenile does in the song ‘Back That Azz Up,'” claiming the show checked. The show further played clips of Trump saying about Husted, “I studied his a**,” with the clarification “to see where the power came from.”
Klepper then reacted to footage of Donald Trump’s other recent comments about the physique of Texas Senate candidate Ken Paxton compared to Husted’s, further highlighting Trump’s focus on each candidate’s rear. Trump could be seen in a clip saying, in reference to his previous remarks, “Maybe I should do that with Ken Paxton, but I’m not sure that your body is gonna qualify.”
The segment then shifted focus to Alaska, where Republican Dan Sullivan trails Democrat Mary Peltola. Trump took credit this week for a Department of Justice request asking a federal judge to block certification of the Senate race only if Sullivan, the incumbent, loses. Klepper called the move “wild,” arguing no one can sue to block an election before it happens and asking whether Trump was “pre-January 6ing this race.”
