According to Heat World, after Prince Harry’s first interview since returning to UK soil, a Sussex spokesperson moved quickly to clarify. They insisted it “was absolutely not intended as a swipe at his brother or any other member of his family.”
However, an insider told the source that William sees it differently. “William has no doubt in his mind that this was yet another cheap shot at him, Kate and rest of the royals,” the source said. They added that he “wishes Harry would shut up and stop playing games, especially if he’s sincere in his desire to build bridges.”
The source went further. William, they claimed, feels his brother is “going out of his way to cause trouble and embarrass the family.” The insider also said the Prince of Wales considers Harry “the definition of a loose cannon, whose intentions cannot be trusted.” They claimed William struggles to understand why Harry feels qualified to take a “self-appointed pedestal” after the damage and pain caused to the family and the monarchy.
Catherine, Princess of Wales, has often taken a “peacemaker” stance since the feud escalated in 2020. The source says Kate, 44, is trying to stay calm, though the comments have clearly touched a nerve. The Waleses are reportedly “exasperated.” However, “Kate’s response has been a less emotional and more measured one,” the insider said. She “wants to believe Harry’s coming from a place of vulnerability.” She also sees the interview as his way of seeking a path towards peace.
Even so, the source said the Princess is “bitterly disappointed and very frustrated that he’s going about things so publicly.” The insider added, “It’s the total opposite of how the royals conduct themselves, and Harry must have known it would enrage senior members of the family.”
