Este Haim Loves Taylor Swift’s ‘Reputation’ Era, but Has One Favorite — Report

Este Haim and Taylor Swift are both making music for animated children’s projects, and the HAIM bassist has a clear favorite among her longtime friend’s musical styles. Haim also opened up about her friendship with Swift and revealed which version of the singer’s music she loves most.

Este Haim reportedly reflects on Taylor Swift returning to her musical roots with Pixar’s ‘Toy Story 5’ song

Haim voices the villainous Hallow’s Eve in Marvel and Disney Jr.’s “Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up!” She also co-created a song for the special with Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump. Taylor Swift, meanwhile, recently landed a chart-topping hit with “I Knew It, I Knew You” for Pixar’s “Toy Story 5.”

Speaking to People, Haim, 40, joked that the overlap is “not a coincidence.” She added, “We’ve both got great taste.” Their friendship also factors in her view of the song. “It’s so good. I mean, she’s so talented,” she said.

Swift, 36, released the track in June, marking her return to country music. That shift stood out to Haim. “It’s almost like she’s gone back to her roots a little bit,” she said. “That’s my favorite version of her. I mean, I’m also a ‘Reputation’ girly, but I love when it’s just her and a guitar.”

Both musicians may be working in similar spaces, but Haim’s own project came with a new experience. She and Stump sing together on “Hallow’s Eve Theme.” Stump, who also composes for Disney Jr.’s “Spidey and His Amazing Friends”, joined the recording session over Zoom.

That setup helped Haim, who was not used to being in the studio without her sisters and bandmates, Danielle and Alana. “I think he was probably like, ‘Este needs a little bit of handholding,’ which was true,” she told the outlet. It was her first duet with anyone outside her family. “Also, I fan-girled for the first 20 minutes of being on the phone with him,” she admitted. Meanwhile, Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You” was nominated for several awards, including the Country Music Association’s Single of the Year 2026, her first CMA nomination in four years.
