A PR expert has suggested that Prince Harry must choose between protecting his public image and repairing his relationships with King Charles and Prince William, arguing that he cannot have it both ways. The comments come after Harry expressed a desire to ease tensions with the royal family in a recent interview, while acknowledging that some people do not want his reconciliation efforts to succeed.
Expert wants Prince Harry to avoid public family commentary
PR expert Eric Schiffer told Newsweek that Prince Harry needs to decide what he truly wants. He argued that the Duke of Sussex must choose between repairing his public image and rebuilding his relationships with King Charles and Prince William.
He said, “Make a selection—do you want a relationship with your father and your brother, or do you want to try to stop the bleed out of reputational challenges, because you can’t have both, and if he’s going to focus on his reputation, then he has to keep his mouth shut with his family, don’t talk about it, don’t comment” (via The News International).
Schiffer’s remarks come days after Harry’s GQ interview, in which the Duke of Sussex opened up about the pain surrounding his strained relationships with his father and elder brother.
Reflecting on family conflicts, he said, “I think from a family perspective — again, another massively relatable issue for so many people — sibling disagreements, broken relationships between kids and their parents, kids and one parent. That continues to come up with me the whole time with people that I speak to, so I know how relatable it is.”
He also acknowledged that some people question how he intends to repair his relationship with the royal family. Harry hopes that his efforts to reconcile with his family will inspire others to work through their own personal conflicts.
While recognizing that some people may not want his relationships with his relatives to improve, he maintained that he genuinely wants to make things right. The Duke also emphasized the importance of moving beyond past grievances and reuniting, particularly in a world facing so many challenges.
