Meghan Markle might be aiming higher after a recent casting setback. According to a source, the Duchess of Sussex is determined to land a major acting role. It was reported that she wants something that shows her range. However, a return to her most famous show is also being talked about.
Meghan Markle ‘would love to land a role on a prestige TV show,’ per source
A source told Closer that the situation with “The Gentlemen” has only made Meghan Markle more determined. She is reportedly “very good at using rejection as fuel.” According to the insider, she believes that is the only way to make it in the business. Hence, she isn’t letting the disappointment slow her down. Her goal is reportedly a prestige TV project that shows her range, something she can “really sink her teeth into.”
Meanwhile, there is still speculation that she might do something related to “Suits.” The insider claimed there is a “huge appetite” to see her back in the role, so she could potentially get her own spinoff. She hasn’t said either way, but “it’s well-known that they want her.”
It was reported earlier this week that Suits bosses could offer Meghan a £3.7 million payday to return. According to the Daily Express, the proposal involves a one-off reunion special that could lead to a revival of the original series. The report also claims that NBCUniversal is considering a substantial budget and UK filming, which would allow Meghan to remain close to Prince Harry and their children. Patrick J. Adams could also return for the proposed project. However, neither Meghan nor NBCUniversal has officially confirmed the reported offer.
For context, Meghan played Rachel Zane on the legal drama Suits before leaving the show in 2018. Meanwhile, sources close to the Duchess reportedly accused Netflix of using speculation about her potential role in The Gentlemen to promote the series. An insider from the series seemingly hit back rather directly. They claimed that it is “not a show in need of stunt casting.”
