Meghan Markle will be back on TV, and this time she is heading back to the MasterChef kitchen. She says she can’t wait to see what the young contestants “cook up” at Junior MasterChef Australia. The Duchess also notes that she loves “cooking with [her] own kids.” Thus, “seeing what these young stars create in the kitchen is going to be a lot of fun,” she added.
Meghan Markle is reportedly set to appear on Junior MasterChef Australia as a special guest
PEOPLE has confirmed that Meghan Markle will appear on Junior MasterChef Australia as a special guest. Channel 10 shared the news on Instagram, announcing that the series returns in 2027. Host Poh Ling Yeow will be joined by Meghan. Together they will “help guide the next generation of young culinary talent,” according to the press release.
Meghan reportedly explained her decision, saying, “I had an incredible time with the whole team at MasterChef this past April, so when they approached me to come back and work with this young group of talent, it was an easy yes,” she said.
Meanwhile, Yeow said she was “thrilled to bits” about the show’s return. She also recalled having a “lovely time filming with Meghan earlier this year.” The host is similarly excited for the young chefs, and expects “plenty of delicious surprises and a little mischief, too.”
This is not Meghan’s first appearance on the franchise. During her April visit to Australia, she served as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia. There, she mentored cooks alongside Yeow, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli. Her arrival was kept secret to surprise the contestants.
Food has long featured in Meghan’s screen work. She guest-judged on Food Network’s Chopped Junior in 2016, and her recipes and kitchen are central to her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. Filming for Junior MasterChef Australia begins in 2027, and the series will air on Network 10.
