Meghan Markle will soon return to television, but not in the role many expected. The Duchess of Sussex has booked another cooking show appearance, and fans of the genre will recognize the format.
Meghan Markle set to appear on Junior MasterChef
People reported that Meghan Markle will guest-star on Junior MasterChef Australia. The Duchess of Sussex joins the show as a special guest rather than its host, despite earlier speculation that she would take the hosting reins. Host Poh Ling Yeow returns to lead the series, and producers say the pair will “help guide the next generation of young culinary talent,” per a press release.
Meghan welcomed the invitation, pointing to her April visit to the parent show. “I had an incredible time with the whole team at MasterChef this past April, so when they approached me to come back and work with this young group of talent, it was an easy yes,” she said in the release.
Further adding, “I love cooking with my own kids, so seeing what these young stars create in the kitchen is going to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see what they cook up!”
Yeow echoed that excitement. “I’m thrilled to bits that Junior MasterChef is returning to our screens,” she said. “People often ask me whether it might come back, so I know the news will be met with plenty of excitement.” She added, “I had a lovely time filming with Meghan earlier this year, and being reunited will be a real treat. I can’t wait to meet our pint-sized culinary adventurers – I’m expecting plenty of delicious surprises and a little mischief, too.”
Meghan first appeared on MasterChef Australia in April as a guest judge, mentoring contestants next to Yeow, Sofia Levin, and Jean-Christophe Novelli. She will reportedly stay in Australia for only a few weeks. Prince Harry, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, will not relocate with her.
Filming starts in 2027, and the show airs on Australia’s Network 10.
