Thomas Markle Jr. has reportedly apologized to Meghan Markle for supporting their dad instead of her. The two became estranged after he criticized the former “Suits” actor in the press, calling her “soulless” and “hypocritical.”
Meghan faced considerable backlash from her brother for cutting ties with their father. He also posted videos mocking her following her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.
However, in a new turn of events, Thomas Markle Jr. has now apologized to his sister. Speaking to The Sun, he said, “I’m so, so sorry Meghan.” He added that he had realized he had been protecting the wrong person for the past nine years.
The window fitter also shared that he had come to see their father differently. He explained that the man he had cared for and defended all those years had not been the person he had thought him to be.
Thomas Markle Sr. reportedly found himself at the center of a major scandal recently, bringing him negative attention. Moreover, Thomas Markle Jr. reportedly personally reported his father to law enforcement agencies. Looking back, he said that he now understands why Markle cut ties with their father and doesn’t let Harry or their kids meet him.
He added, “I know we’re not close but I can still remember holding you when you were a baby and looking after you when you were small. So please accept my apology and know that I wish you and your family all the best for the future.” Meanwhile, Thomas Markle Sr. has denied all the allegations, and no wrongdoing has been proven yet.
