Kate Middleton traded state-banquet glamor for hands-on duty, making a memorable statement in her latest appearance. The Princess of Wales set aside her tiara and donned a hard hat, proving her versatility once again. The news of her low-key outing followed her dazzling appearance at the Sultan of Oman’s state banquet in a bright yellow Elie Saab gown and the Lover’s Knot Tiara.
Kate Middleton wears a hard hat while inspecting a treehouse built
Kate Middleton showed her range in just 48 hours, exchanging her signature tiara for a hard hat and high-visibility jacket for a hands-on treehouse inspection.
As reported by Hello!, the Princess of Wales was at The Treehouse children’s hospice in her capacity as patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH). She took on the patronage in 2012, one of her first after marrying into the royal family the year before.
The location is a milestone in Middleton’s royal journey as the site of her first public speech in 2012. The organization also has a deeply personal tie to her late mother-in-law, dating back to 1989 when Princess Diana opened its first hospice.
Princess Catherine began her visit with a tour of The Treehouse’s new expansion. For the walkthrough, she geared up in a hard hat and high-visibility jacket to safely view the construction site. The project is slated for completion in 2028. It will add a hydrotherapy pool, a dedicated space for teenagers, and larger kitchen and dining areas.
For the outing, she embraced an autumnal palette in a forest green Victoria Beckham pantsuit featuring the $1,390 Katherine blazer. She paired it with a black polo neck and a burgundy belt with a gold buckle. The 44-year-old finished the look with a pair of Kiki McDonough earrings, per InStyle.
After viewing the expansion, she joined children and families at The Treehouse to learn about the creative therapies available to them. Around 185 children, young people, and relatives are presently under the care of The Treehouse.
