A familiar face on Boston television has found a new home in the city’s news market. The veteran journalist, who spent nearly a decade at WBZ-TV, has joined another local station’s newsroom, which is a familiar addition to her broadcasting career.
Tiffany Chan is a fill-in anchor at 7News now
Tiffany Chan, a former CBS WBZ reporter and anchor, has moved to another Boston newsroom after leaving the station in spring 2025. She announced last week that she has started work as a reporter and fill-in anchor at WHDH-TV. Chan reportedly spent eight years at WBZ before making the move.
In an Instagram post, Chan shared her enthusiasm about the new role. “One week down @7news! I feel incredibly lucky to be back on-air and working with this great team,” she wrote. The anchor also posted a photo of herself beside host Ryan Schulteis at the 7News desk. According to the post, the two will anchor together next on Tuesday, October 27.
For those unaware, during her time at WBZ, Chan covered several major local and international stories. Her assignments included the 2025 election of Pope Leo, the 2025 sale of the Celtics to William Chisolm, the Karen Read murder trial, President Donald Trump’s 2024 election win, the 2022 car crash into a Hingham Apple Store, and the COVID-19 pandemic (via The Patriot Ledger).
Chan had previously worked as a state house bureau correspondent and fill-in anchor at WWLP, as per her LinkedIn page. Earlier in her career, she served as a reporter’s assistant and newsroom intern at NECN. She did her graduation from Suffolk University in Boston in 2013.
Even after starting at 7News, Chan’s Instagram handle remains @tiffanywbz. Her bio notes that Instagram “won’t let me change my username” just yet. She plans to eventually switch it to @tiffanychantv. Sunbeam Television, which owns WHDH-TV and WSVN-TV in Florida, however, said it does not comment on personal matters.
