Kate Middleton’s Meeting With Tom Cruise Came With Princess Diana Connection

Kate Middleton and Prince William recently attended the world premiere of Tom Cruise’s upcoming film, Digger. The Princess of Wales showed up with a Princess Diana accessory incorporated into her overall look. The satirical black comedy is set to be released in U.S. theaters on October 2.

On Tuesday, Prince William and Middleton joined Cruise at the world premiere of Digger that was held at Leicester Square, central London. For the event, Middleton sported a long violet Jenny Packham dress with a train, pairing it with Princess Diana’s earrings and the Queen Mother’s amethyst sautoir necklace. She wore her hair in a half-updo and opted for nude makeup, creating an overall elegant look. Meanwhile, Prince William donned a black velvet tuxedo. His outfit also attracted praise from Cruise, who appreciated his jacket.

Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, the movie centers on a powerful man who is a self-proclaimed humanity savior. The clock is ticking as he races to stop the very thing he freed from potentially bringing an end to everything. The cast includes Cruise, Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons, Robert John Burke, Emma D’Arcy, Burn Gorman, Sophie Wilde, and Pip Torrens, among others.

Their latest outing came as Charles Spencer, Princess Diana’s brother, released his memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister. William was recently asked about his uncle’s book while visiting ActOne Cinema in London to celebrate the British film industry. An off-camera reporter asked, “So, how do you feel about your uncle’s book?” William did not respond and continued inside.

Recently, Spencer revealed that he informed William and Harry about the memoir at the same time as he did his sisters, Lady Sarah and Lady Jane. “I could reassure both of them that they’re, of course, in the book, but really as examples of two little boys who had the most exceptional mother, I’m not in any way compromising their privacy at all,” he said, referring to the royal brothers’ depiction in the book.
