Prince Harry’s Title Threat From William Has One Constitutional Catch — Expert

A royal expert predicts what Prince William will do when he eventually becomes king. An expert has claimed that the Prince of Wales will make tough decisions about working royal family members, including his estranged brother, Prince Harry. For those unversed, King Charles issued a letter via the Lord Chamberlain asserting that Harry and Meghan Markle remain private citizens. Moreover, they cannot carry out royal engagements or use royal titles.

What Prince William could actually change about Prince Harry’s royal status if he becomes king, expert reveals

According to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, Prince William could reportedly withdraw Prince Harry’s royal status, along with six other royal family members (via Express UK). It is no secret that the brothers have shared a strained relationship after the Sussexes stepped down as working royals and relocated to the U.S. in 2020. The cracks further deepened when Harry and Meghan appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s show and made brutal allegations against the royal family. This was followed by the Duke of Sussex’s 2023 memoir, Spare, which was allegedly the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Fitzwilliams has predicted that when William becomes king, he could possibly strip the Sussexes of their royal titles. Moreover, besides Harry and Meghan, the others who could lose their royal titles are Prince Archie, Princess Lilibet, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie.

He remarked: “As long as the rift with William persists, they reportedly haven’t spoken for years, there remains the possibility that when he becomes King, he will reduce the size of the Royal Family.” Fitzwilliams predicted that the Sussexes “could lose their appeal,” at least for a certain time.

Interestingly, as per Rob Shuter’s scoop, it was William who convinced King Charles to issue a letter clarifying the Sussexes’ royal status. Charles issued a letter via the Lord Chamberlain asserting that the Sussexes remain private citizens. As per Shuter, the Prince of Wales urged his father to set the record straight to avoid any confusion and misunderstandings among the public. A royal source shared: “William had had enough of the confusion. William’s answer was brutally simple: nothing has changed. They are out.”
