Fox News’ most prominent Democrat just fired back at President Donald Trump in the most unbothered way possible. The host addressed Trump’s repeated personal attacks and explained how she turned his criticism into a compliment.
Jessica Tarlov responds to Donald Trump’s repeated criticism and calls for Fox News to fire her
Fox News host Jessica Tarlov pushed back against President Donald Trump’s repeated personal attacks on her during a recent appearance on Pod Save America. The 42-year-old Democrat responded to Trump’s criticism by questioning why the 80-year-old president focuses on her.
“Why is this man not busier?” Tarlov asked on the podcast. “There are better things to do,” she added.
Trump has targeted Tarlov multiple times on Truth Social, calling her “one of the Least Attractive and Talented People on all of Television.” He also posted in July that he “can’t stand” her and called her “a real loser.”
Tarlov appeared on the podcast to promote her new book, I Disagree, which came out on Tuesday. The book explores how she handles relentless presidential criticism. Trump once described her voice as “grating and terrible” in one of his social media posts.
“By the president coming after me and looking at the content of the criticism, I actually got to a place where I genuinely feel like when people pick on you because of style, that you’ve just done really well on substance,” Tarlov said. “That feels good, the inner monologue feels good. It’s still sad and crazy,” she added.
Tarlov first joined Fox News as a commentator in 2017. She serves as a left-leaning voice on The Five and regularly challenges her conservative co-panelists. Trump has repeatedly called for the network to fire her.
However, Tarlov recently signed a new contract with the network. She told The Guardian that Fox News leadership did not consider Trump’s demands. “I think that Suzanne Scott and the entire leadership team know exactly who I am, and that they want me to keep doing what I’m doing,” she said.
