Meghan Markle Sparks Doubts She’s Creating ‘Security Risks Deliberately’ — Experts

Meghan Markle‘s latest social media post has sparked fresh debate over her family’s security arrangements in the U.K. A newly released video shows Prince Harry, Meghan, and their children enjoying the English countryside.

However, royal commentators immediately questioned whether revealing identifiable details of their surroundings was a wise decision. The discussion comes at a time when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex continue to face scrutiny over their long-running security concerns.

Experts wonder if Meghan Markle’s UK video was a ‘deliberate’ move to get security

The video, posted on Meghan’s Instagram, showed the family walking through the countryside near their reported home in the Cotswolds. The clip highlights distinct landscape features, including a tree-lined path, a bridge, and a pond. Consequently, experts warn that tech-savvy observers could easily identify the private location.

Royal expert Tom Sykes questioned the decision on The Royalist podcast, calling it “an almost unbelievably stupid thing to do.” He argued that it was difficult to believe the couple did not realize viewers could potentially geolocate the area. Sykes further speculated that the public post could “create security risks deliberately” to strengthen the Sussexes’ ongoing case for enhanced protection.

Daily Mail editor-at-large Alison Boshoff echoed similar doubts while acknowledging they were speculative. She suggested Harry would likely have received extensive advice during his time as a working royal about avoiding the disclosure of location details. Boshoff questioned whether the decision reflected poor judgment or a more calculated move, though she offered no evidence to support either possibility.

The safety discussion emerged shortly after major policy updates from Buckingham Palace. Specifically, the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) agreed to review the Sussexes’ security arrangements through a fresh risk assessment. Harry has repeatedly challenged the reduction of publicly funded security since stepping back as a working royal in 2020 but has so far been unsuccessful in court. Neither Markle nor Harry has publicly responded to the experts’ claims regarding the video or its possible implications.
