Meghan Markle is reportedly taking a cautious approach to her relationship with Kate Middleton as she and Prince Harry settle back into life in the UK. According to an insider, the Duchess of Sussex wants to avoid repeating past tensions while remaining open to improving her relationship with the Princess of Wales.

Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior working royals in 2020 before moving to California. In the years that followed, they shared their experiences through interviews, their Netflix docuseries and Harry’s memoir “Spare.” Their accounts also drew renewed attention to Meghan’s relationship with Kate.
Harry wrote about his sister-in-law at length in “Spare.” He described disagreements over lip gloss, Meghan’s wedding preparations and a conversation about the phrase “baby brain.” The insider told The National Examiner that Meghan still feels that Kate could have handled some situations differently. “It’s no secret Meghan believes Kate was culpable when it came to some of the rumors about her too,” the source said. “If not directly, she certainly didn’t stick up for her.”
Now that Harry and Meghan have returned to Britain with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the insider says Meghan remains open to seeing whether she and Kate can move forward. However, she reportedly does not intend to force a reconciliation. “Ideally, she would like it if they could be on better terms, but not if it means she has to beg,” the insider claimed. “Meghan isn’t going to grovel to anybody, least of all Kate.”
Their return brings the Sussexes closer to the Royal Family, including Kate and Prince William. It also gives Archie and Lilibet more chances to spend time with their British relatives. For Meghan, however, rebuilding trust with Kate may matter more than living in the same country. The insider claimed Meghan believes Kate should also take steps toward repairing that trust. “If anything, she feels like Kate ought to be the one making the effort to earn her trust back,” the source said.
