According to a royal expert, the Sussexes have assured King Charles that they will avoid sharing photos, making public comments, or generating headlines that could overshadow George’s first day at the prestigious school.

Royal broadcaster Neil Sean told Fox News Digital that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to avoid creating their own headlines around Prince George’s school debut in September. “The Sussexes have assured the king that they will not hijack or derail major royal events,” Sean said.
He specifically referenced George’s first day at Eton and claimed the couple would refrain from sharing photos or making public comments about the occasion. An Archewell representative told Fox News Digital, “This is not something we would comment on.” Kensington Palace also did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
For the unversed, the 13-year-old is set to begin at Eton this September, with Kensington Palace confirming the decision in June. His move to the prestigious school carries added significance within the royal family, as he will follow in the footsteps of both his father, Prince William, and his uncle Harry, who also attended Eton.
“Prince George’s start at Eton isn’t just a personal milestone; it’s the beginning of his public-facing path as heir to the throne,” Royal Commentator Amanda Matta explained.
Matta noted that the Palace has worked carefully to shape the public image of William, Kate Middleton, and their children. She suggested that competing headlines surrounding Harry and Meghan could potentially disrupt that narrative, particularly if they reignited attention on the family’s long-running tensions.
“The Palace is incredibly protective of that narrative,” Matta said, adding that coverage involving the Sussexes could divert attention from the image the Prince and Princess of Wales have carefully cultivated.
“It would certainly be a shame for his first days at Eton to see him embroiled in a ‘feud’ narrative with his uncle and aunt,” Matta said.
