Prince Harry has admitted that his strained relationships with King Charles and Prince William still weigh on him. Speaking about the royal family feud in a new interview, the Duke of Sussex said he wants to find a way forward with his relatives.
Harry also reflected on the pain of broken family ties and explained why he believes holding on to past disagreements only makes reconciliation harder.

Prince Harry has once again spoken about his hopes of making peace with his family. In his latest interview with GQ, he opened up about his strained ties with King Charles and Prince William and how the ongoing rift has left him feeling.
Speaking to GQ in New York last month, Harry admitted that the family fallout still hurts. When asked if he was grieving the broken relationships, he simply said, “Yes, of course,” according to the Mirror.
Harry pointed out that arguments between siblings and disagreements with parents aren’t unusual. He said people often share their own family troubles with him, knowing he has faced similar difficulties.
“Some people don’t want it to work out. I want it to work out,” he said.
Harry also believes there’s little to gain from carrying family disagreements indefinitely. “With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile – that’s the key point… scars stick around forever.”
His spokesperson later clarified that the comment about people not wanting things to work out wasn’t directed at William or another royal family member.
Things have been tense between Harry and his family for some time. His rift with William has drawn particular attention, especially since he and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020. His memoir, Spare, later added to the controversy.
The Duke also spoke about returning to Britain with Meghan Markle and their children. He said the move offered opportunities for his family and allowed him to spend more time in the UK.
Harry has made his wishes clear. Whether Charles and William are ready to rebuild those relationships is another question.
