Prince William Urged To Do More as ‘Work-Shy’ Label Refuses To Die — Expert

A royal expert has reportedly urged Prince William to take on more royal duties amid ongoing claims that he is “work-shy.” There is no denying that William is one of the most popular working royals and, as the heir to the throne, he is set to become the future king.

However, the Prince of Wales has frequently faced criticism for carrying out fewer royal duties and public engagements than senior royals such as King Charles and Princess Anne.

Expert says Prince William should take on more royal duties as he prepares for the throne

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams has reportedly advised Prince William to clock in more hours for royal duties as he prepares to become the future King. Fitzwilliams believes that, with King Charles’ poor health, now is the time for the Prince of Wales to step up and prove himself as a worthy successor.

The expert quipped that William’s reluctance to take on more royal duties had earned him the unflattering nickname “Work Shy Wills,” suggesting that he only took on the engagements he wanted to do.

The royal expert explained that it was “totally understandable” that William prioritised his family’s privacy and well-being during his earlier years as a working royal. This was particularly understandable given that his children were growing up in the spotlight while his father had taken on the role of King (via Daily Mail).

“Yet, considering the magnitude of the job he one day will be asked to take on, with King Charles still battling cancer, it is surely important that he takes on more,” Fitzwilliams urged.

The royal expert explained that the Waleses are two of the most popular royals. Not only that, Brits, especially the younger ones, have given the couple a favourable and positive rating, both individually and as a couple.

Fitzwilliam believes the couple needs to capitalize on their positive public image. He dished: “This would be a brilliant use of our soft power, bearing in mind the Waleses have ratings Britain of over 70 percent, which is superb and should be maximised.”

The royal couple is expected to travel to Mumbai, India, in November for the Earthshot Prize ceremony. Fitzwilliams has urged the Prince of Wales to utilise the moment to assert his dominance and strengthen his position.
